SQL Server substring

The SQL SUBSTRING( ) function is used to extract a sub string from a given string's  start  to end position. Syntax: //GET SQL SUBSTRING SELECT SUBSTRING ( 'C2495E17-2B72-4FA0-969D-BE8388E4BDBC' , 5 , 19 ) as SUBS_TRING_RESULT OR //GET SQL SUBSTRING SELECT TOP 2  UPPER ( SUBSTRING ( NAME , 1 , 1 )) + LOWER ( SUBSTRING ( NAME , 2 , 255 ))               AS 'CUSTOMER_NAME' FROM CUSTOMER
